Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo: A Quick Look
In March 2017, Porsche unveiled the Panamera Sport Turismo at the Geneva Motor Show. Technically speaking, the Sport Turismo is the wagon/hatchback version of the Panamera sedan, though labeling this remarkable car with wagon and hatchback monikers is dreadfully misleading; the Sport Turismo is impossibly sexy in ways no other wagon or hatchback could ever hope to be. The look of this car has more in common with Porsche sports cars than its Panamera cousins; details such as thin rear taillights linked by a strip of LEDs, wide-set headlights, and a flat hood are all more reminiscent of a classic 911 than first-generation Panameras. In fact, the eye-catching Turismo can be easily thought of as a stretched out 911.
Porsche is currently offering six Panamera Sport Turismo models for 2019. Here’s a quick look at the details of the different models:
Panamera 4 Sport Turismo
- Engine – 3.0-liter V-6
- Max power – 330 hp
- 0-60 – 5.0 seconds with Sport Chrono Package
- Top track speed – 160mph
Other features to note: This car drives like a dream. Grippy tires, precision steering, smooth braking, seamless gear shifting, and a well-tuned suspension work together to create an unforgettable driving experience.
Panamera 4S Sport Turismo
- Engine – 2.9-liter twin turbo V-6
- Max power – 440 hp
- 0-60 – 4.0 seconds with Sport Chrono Package
- Top track speed – 177mph
Other features to note: The Sport Turismo models have a beautiful exterior that is unique from the B-pillar back. The long-sloping tailgate of the past has been replaced with a one-piece power-operated hatch that looks as fabulous as it functions. At the top of the rear deck lid, there is an electronically power-operated rear spoiler. This technological wonder raises and lowers to reduce drag, increases down force, and lowers cabin noise levels when the roof is open and then tucks cleanly out of the way when not in use.
Panamera GTS Sport Turismo
- Engine – 4.0-liter V-8
- Max power – 453 hp
- 0-60 – 3.9 seconds with Sport Chrono Package
- Top track speed – 179mph
Other features to note: As usual, the GTS is designed to be very sporty. The entirety of the Sport Design package is standard on the GTS, resulting in a host of black exterior trim elements over the entire vehicle. Additionally, the interior has sleek black Alcantara upholstery and a heated multifunction sport steering wheel.
Panamera Turbo Sport Turismo
- Engine – 4.0-liter twin turbo V-8
- Max power – 550 hp
- 0-60 – 3.6 seconds with Sport Chrono Package
- Top track speed – 188mph
Other features to note: This car is fast. It’s also heavy and long, but you’ll never notice. It stays low and flat on the corners and accelerates on the straights at a heart-pounding pace. It genuinely feels like a supercar stuffed in the body of a gorgeous wagon.
Panamera 4E-Hybrid Sport Turismo
- Engine – 2.9-liter twin turbo V-6 + 136 hp electric motor
- Battery – 14 kWh lithium-ion battery with on-board charger
- Max power – 462 hp
- 0-60 – 4.4 seconds with Sport Chrono Package
- Top track speed – 170mph
Other features to note: The 4E-Hybrid is 700+ pounds heavier than its standard Panamera 4 Sport Turismo counterpart, accounting for the lower 0-60 speed. But, because the extra weight is in the back, it feels firmly planted and stable in the corners.
Panamera 4S-Hybrid Sport Turismo
- Engine – 4.0-liter twin turbo V-8 + 136hp electric motor
- Max power – 680 hp
- 0-60 – 3.2 seconds with Sport Chrono Package
- Top track speed – 192mph
Other features to note: This car is rated at 49mph, which is astonishing. It’s an all-wheel-drive vehicle that delivers a heart pounding 680 horsepower from a combination of a 4.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V8 engine and Porsche-designed electric motors.
Porsche’s core principle is to deliver more – more performance, more innovation, more excitement. The Panamera Sport Turismo perfectly embodies this passion for more. Drive a Panamera Turismo today and discover a car that you’ve never wanted more.
